Succession planning is the process of thoughtfully structuring the transfer of business ownership and/or management from one person or group to another. One extremely important, and often overlooked, responsibility of the founder or founders of a successful business is to create and implement a plan to transfer the ownership and/or management of the business. I assist businesses and business owners with this process and help to create and implement these strategies. Many such strategies cross over into the area of estate planning as many business owners want to include their children and further descendants in the ownership and/or management of their businesses.
